We aquired our first poodle, a black Miniature from the RSPCA in 1973 "Frisky" who lived to grand old age of 17 1/2 years old, the first show dog a silver Mini (Silvara Silver Slipper) came along in 1976  and retired with an Australian Bred in Show. Luachra Poodles started in Standard Poodles 1978 with "Jedda" Sorciere alp Luachra from Sybil Rosier who produced 3 champions who then went on to produce a further 3 champions, we lost our last beloved standard "Jordan" Ch Luachra Dangerous Liasion in 1997 and decided to concentrate more on the miniatures.

Our foundation Mini bitch, "Odette" Ch Jeunesse Shall We Dance, was born in 1980 and went on to become a Multi Best In Show, Best In Group and Class in Show winner, Odette is behind most of our current minis and she was Beritas and Lochranza bred. Odette was our top winning Sire's mother "Colby" Ch Luachra Bear Esentials who was top producing stud dog for 1988/90 and he was by Ch Lochranza Bearskin(Imp UK).

In 2004 we decided to join forces with a newcomer to the breed, Louise Smith, to make sure that all our hard work over the years continued on with the younger generation. We have had Toy Poodles under the Chapford prefix since 1984 so check out the Chapford Web Site. The Luachra prefix is now solely owned by Louise Smith
